The BBC show has released a photo of the current female cast and crew assembled in the Doctor's time and space-travel machine to celebrate their contribution.
The photo features current leading actress Jenna Coleman , who plays companion Clara Oswald, and Michelle Gomez, who plays the current incarnation of the Master, at the controls of the TARDIS.
The photo also includes production manager Tracie Simpson, producer Nikki Wilson and director Hettie MacDonald leading the group of women who work on the sci-fi drama.
International Women's Day is celebrated annually on March 8 to recognise the economic, political and social achievements of women worldwide - and in this case, universe-wide!
Doctor Who executive producer Steven Moffat recently confirmed that Coleman had originally planned to quit the show last year.
