Jennette McCurdy Addresses Ariana Grande Feud: ''We Butted Heads at Times but in a Very Sisterly Way''—Watch!

There's no bad blood here!

E! News caught up with Sam & Cat's Jennette McCurdy, star of the upcoming Netflix series Between, who was reportedly at odds with Nickelodeon and co-star Ariana Grande before the show was axed, cleared the air on her status with the singer. And in case any of you guys were hoping for a juicy feud—sorry!

"I just feel that, you know Ariana and I were and are extremely close and very like-minded in a lot of different ways and then, sorta as the show dissolved, everybody wanted to find some sort of hidden meaning in our relationship," McCurdy tells us.

"Some like drama and I think we butted heads at times but in a very sisterly way. She knows me so well and I know her so well that I think it was unfortunate that things kind of got misconstrued."

Jennette continued to explain that working long hours beside Grande for those years created a friendship that cannot be penetrated.

"There is certainly like a friend dynamic but then once you're around that person for—I mean, Carly, Sam & Cat—once we didn't have child labor laws we could work like 16 hours a day so you are around these people constantly and It's just natural that you're gonna have ups and downs," she says.

"But you bond so much and you're so close that you can't go through that experience and...I can't imagine a world where you would not come out extreme friends. I mean I have bonds with both Miranda Cosgrove and Ariana that are impenetrable."

Shortly after Nickelodeon canceled Sam & Cat, McCurdy addressed many issues via reddit. "I am not a role model. I don't claim to be, I don't try to be, and I don't want to be. There was a time when I tried to live up to the aggrandizing title, that pedestal of a thing. Maybe it wasn't so much that I was trying to live up to it," she wrote. "Perhaps I thought I could and I thought I was supposed to, so I gave it my best shot."

McCurdy said she can "admit" it now. "Back in my adolescence, I was more amiable, bubbly, and on lightly humid days, maybe even flouncy," the 22-year-old vented. "I was role model material and then some."
