Kendrick Lamar releases new album To Pimp a Butterfly one week early

Kendrick Lamar has released his new album a week earlier than expected.

The rapper has made To Pimp a Butterfly available to download and stream on iTunes and Spotify ahead of its planned release on March 23.

The record features recent singles 'The Blacker the Berry' and 'i', as well as new tracks 'These Walls', 'Wesley's Theory' and 'Mortal Man'.

To Pimp a Butterfly serves as the follow-up to 2012's Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, which reached number two in the US and 16 in the UK.

Lamar will perform his new material when he appears at New Look Wireless 2015 in London this summer.

He will take to the festival alongside the likes of Nicki Minaj, Mary J Blige and Drake.
