As Rupaul once told Rupaul's Drag Race contestants, "The time has come to lip sync...for your life!"
While the iconic drag queen doesn't appear on the first season of Spike TV's Lip Sync Battle, plenty of other celebrities—including Malin Akerman , Jimmy Fallon , Julianne Hough , Dwayne Johnson , Anna Kendrick, John Krasinski and John Legend —put their lives on the line, so to speak, when they compete in the musical challenge. Inspired by the recurring segment on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the show will be hosted by LL Cool J. Supermodel and social media sensation Chrissy Teigen will co-host.
If the first teaser trailer is any indication, it's going to be quite a season!
BuzzFeed debuted the first extended look at the battles Tuesday. Two celebrities will perform two songs each per episode, and afterward, the audience will decide who wins. As E! News previously revealed, Johnson selected Taylor Swift 's "Shake It Off" to be one of his numbers. "You can tell that he's done this before in his bedroom," said Fallon, who one-upped his opponent by picking Madonna 's "Like a Prayer."

Kendrick and a dance troupe performed complicated choreography to do Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull 's "Booty" justice. To keep Krasinski on his toes, the Pitch Perfect 2 star also enlisted J. Lo herself to make a surprise cameo! "Wait, wait, wait—what is happening?" Krasinski asked. The actor might have outdone Kendrick, though, when he performed Ike & Tina Turner's "Proud Mary." After the funky intro ended, the Something Borrowed star ripped off his shirt and pants to reveal sequined, fringed dress à laTina!
Stephen Merchant got laughs when he wore chaps to do Christina Aguilera and Redman's "Dirrty." As the Hello Ladies star told the hosts, "If you want to stay in this game, give the people what they want."
"Malin, was that not amazing?" LL Cool J asked.
"Yeah, it was not amazing," the Trophy Wife star said.
Lip Sync Battle was announced in November 2014, and LL Cool J joined the show two months later. "Like the rest of the world, I'm a big fan of these battles, but this show is going to bring it to a whole new level," the rapper said in a press release. "I'm thrilled to be working with Jimmy Fallon, John Krasinski, Stephen Merchant and the entire team to host the show and can't wait for the fans at home to join in!"
