Steam introduces 14-day refund policy in Europe

Steam has introduced a 14-day no-questions-asked refund policy in Europe.

Valve 's updated subscriber agreement says that users have the right to withdraw from a transaction for two weeks without charge.

However, it appears that when users download and play their recent purchases, refunds will no longer be available.

"If you are an EU subscriber, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase transaction for digital content without charge and without giving any reason for a duration of 14 days or until Valve's performance of its obligations has begun with your prior express consent and your acknowledgment that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal, whichever happens sooner," reads the agreement.

"Therefore, you will be informed during the checkout process when our performance starts and asked to provide your prior express consent to the purchase being final."

Steam recently broke its record for most concurrent users, topping 9.06 million on Sunday (March 15).
