Dorset punslinger Clive Greenaway smashed the record by completing 26 jokes, going five better than the previous record holder - just like that.
As The Guardian reports, the professional Tommy Cooper impersonator told the cheesiest of one-liners, including: "Pollen count: that's a tough job," and "Went to the paper shop – but it had blown away".
The joke teller has to register a reaction from the 250 members of the Suffolk audience from each joke to satisfy Guinness World Records judges.
Speaking about the feat, Greenaway said: "I didn't speed up towards the end, I started flat out and kept that pace up.
"I probably left a gap of a 400th of a second for the audience to react before I started the next joke. I really enjoyed it, although it was a bit of a blur."
A Guinness World Records spokesperson added: "One of the key rules states that the jokes told must draw a reaction or laugh from the audience – so Clive's achievement of 26 jokes in one minute is a fantastic effort and one that will take some beating."
