Home and Away forced to stop filming due to severe storm

Home and Away was forced to stop filming this week due to a severe storm across New South Wales.

All outdoor scenes at Palm Beach in Sydney's north, which serves as the beach in the show's fictional town of Summer Bay, had to be cancelled on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Palm Beach was left severely eroded by the huge waves, while the caravan park set suffered serious flooding.

Despite the damage caused by the weather, the Home and Away tour is still due to go ahead, allowing fans to be shown around the set locations.

A Seven Network spokeswoman said that it is currently unclear if filming will be able to resume on Thursday.

"It was shut down yesterday and today," the spokeswoman said to The Age. "So we have only lost two days so far."

Home and Away will be taking a four-week transmission break on Channel 5 in May.
