Kristen Stewart Explains Why Her ‘Twilight’ Sex Scene Was Total ‘Agony’

Sorry, Twihards, but Kristen Stewart did not enjoy filming Bella Swan and Edward Cullen’s mind-blowing sex scene in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1.” In fact, it was total “agony” for her and Robert Pattinson.

Honestly, can’t blame her.

“It had to be transcendent and otherworldly, inhuman, better sex than you can possibly ever imagine, and we were like, ’How do we live up to that?'” she told Harper’s Bazaar UK. “It was agony. Which sucks, because I wanted it to be so good.”

It’s okay, girl. Everyone knows filming a sex scene is just about the least sexy thing ever. Not only do you have a small number of crew watching you pretend to get it on, but there are also so many lights and cameras in the room making things awkward. That, coupled with the enormous expectations stacked up against Stewart and her then-boo R. Patz during filming, sounds like agony to us too.

Stewart isn’t against all sex scenes though — just the contrived ones. “I only hate them when they’re contrived. That’s when it’s grotesquely uncomfortable.”

In the candid interview, the actress also dropped some major truth bombs about sexism in the film industry, saying, “Women inevitably have to work a little bit harder to be heard. Hollywood is disgustingly sexist. It’s crazy. It’s so offensive it’s crazy.”

And this is why Stewart is the coolest human being currently alive on the planet. She gives zero f–ks when it comes to speaking her mind and calling out sexist double standards.
