Royal Blood interview: 'We'll play to infants and the elderly'
Ben Thatcher seized the moment to crowdsurf while Ulrich took to the drums for the band's final song of the evening.
The Metallica star is known to be a fan of the band after he attended their show in San Francisco back in October and took them to visit the house featured in Mrs Doubtfire.
Ahead of Wednesday's show, Thatcher revealed that Ulrich was taking him and guitarist Mike Kerr to the venue, tweeting: "Lars is taking us to our show tonight in blame him if we're late."
Following the performance, he added: "Can't quite believe what just happened. Honoured to have such a legend behind my drum kit and I'm not talking about myself."
Royal Blood recently completed a headline UK tour and will perform at Reading & Leeds Festival this August.
