The Killers frontman performed the new wave band's track 'Don't Change' at Troubador in LA on Tuesday (April 14).
According to Hit Fix , he said: "One of the things most profound about INXS is this song we're about to cover.
"It has such a strong identity… ['Don't Change'] is on their first records, and they seemed to really know who they were. You don't really hear that a lot anymore."
The track featured on band's third studio album Shabooh Shoobah, which was also their first album to be released worldwide.
Flowers also revealed that INXS were the first band he ever bought a poster of.
The singer recently released the music video for new single 'Still Want You', which features on his forthcoming album The Desired Effect.
To coincide with the album's arrival on May 1, Flowers will also carry out a six-date UK tour in May, heading to London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Leeds and Birmingham.
