The singer opened MTV's annual awards show with an elaborate preview of her upcoming album ARTPOP, which included her sharing the stage with a troupe of dancers in all-black bodysuits.
Lady Gaga alternated throughout her performance between wearing black and head-covers, a yellow shoulder-length wig and long brown locks.
The popstar's performance at the MTV Video Music Awards marks one of her first major public appearances since recovering from hip surgery.

Lady Gaga's offered a preview of her VMAs performance to her Twitter followers on Saturday (August 24).
Gaga's new album ARTPOP is to be released in November 11.
