The businessman, played by Steve John Shepherd , will be killed off later this year after a plan to gain custody of his daughter from ex-wife Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) backfires.
Michael enlists Alice Branning (Jasmyn Banks) to help him get his child back, but she turns on him when she finally sees his true colours, sparking "major consequences", the Daily Star Sunday reports.
Shepherd, who announced his departure from the BBC One soap back in March, previously teased that Michael's exit will be "gruesome and gothic".
"It's leading to a gruesome and gothic finale. As you know, I'm leaving EastEnders later this year and I'm really pleased that things between Janine and Michael are going to be ghastly," he said.
"I'm looking forward to it as I enjoy working with Charlie Brooks. It's going to be a real battle of wits, and Michael doesn't contemplate the idea of losing for a minute."
