Producer Ratan Jain is planning to make a follow-up to the film, in which Kumar played a college student who gets caught up in a gangster's plot.
He told NDTV : "Films that I have made are not too old. I started working in the 1990s, so yes, youth knows about my film. Yes, we are trying various ideas to come up with different films.
"I don't know about remake, but we are planning to make a sequel to Khiladi. It's in a very early stage, we are still scripting.
"Most probably we will cast a newcomer for the sequel."
Kumar has appeared in several of the film's other sequels including last year's Khiladi 786.
The actor has said that his forthcoming film Boss marks his return to the action genre which made his name.
He said this week that he is not worried about becoming part of the so-called "100 crore club" like his contemporaries Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.
