James Van Der Beek is returning for the final season of "How I Met Your Mother," HuffPost TV has confirmed.
He'll reprise his role as Simon, Robin's (Cobie Smulders) ex-boyfriend, in the 12th episode of Season 9, titled "Bedtime Stories." Van Der Beek broke the news of his return via Twitter, after posting an instagram photo of the "HIMYM" script.

Van Der Beek's guest spots are always related to Robin's past as Canadian teen popstar Robin Sparkles, so here's hoping for another musical number.
"How I Met Your Mother" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
