The Butler filmmaker is being honoured at the Legacy Awards for bringing awareness to the LGBT community.

The gala will be held on November 21 at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. Daniels said in a statement that he is "flattered and humbled" to receive the 'Visionary Award'.
He continued: "Outfest is an extraordinary organisation, and I cannot stress enough the importance of its mission.
"In both my professional and personal life, I constantly strive to represent and provide a voice for the LGBT community, and I am so honoured that the Legacy Awards have selected me as this year's recipient."
Outfest was founded in 1982 to provide a creative outlet for films highlighting gay, lesbian and transgender issues.
Daniels recently released his critically-acclaimed film The Butler .
The historical drama features an all-star cast including Oprah Winfrey, Forest Whitaker, Jane Fonda, Robin Williams and Mariah Carey.
