Susan Sarandon is the latest star to join the NBC family. Sarandon and her daughter Eva Amurri Martino have been tapped to star in a new NBC comedy pilot as mother and daughter. The show has received a pilot production commitment, according to Deadline.

The pilot was written by Martino and Will McCormack and is based on an idea Martino came up with. Currently titled "Growing Ivy," the show centers around Ivy Davis (Martino), a Type-A woman who yearns for the stability she lacked as a child. She's a workaholic who has no social life and attempts to shake up her life by having her mom Franckie (Sarandon) move in with her and work on their relationship.

McCormack and partner Rashida Jones are executive producing alongside Martino and Sarandon.

NBC recently signed Meg Ryan for a comedy pilot and is working on a project fronted by "Ellen DeGeneres Show" favorites Sophia Grace and Rosie.

Sarandon's other TV credits include "The Big C," "ER," "30 Rock" and "Rescue Me." Martino's TV appearances include "New Girl," "Californication" and "The Mindy Project."
