Sony could unveil a successor to its SmartWatch 2 device at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) next week, an FCC product filing suggests.
Sony launched the SmartWatch 2 last summer as a competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Gear, which is expected to receive a second-generation iteration at the Mobile World Congress in February.

The document describes a product referred to as the 'SWR10 BT Wrist Notifier', believed to be a codename for the SmartWatch 3.
Sony launched the SmartWatch 2 last summer as a competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Gear, which is expected to receive a second-generation iteration at the Mobile World Congress in February.
The SmartWatch 2 is compatible with a range of handsets and an expansive library of apps, but lacks the camera and speaker functionality of its Samsung rival.
Sony is also expected to formally announce a miniature version of its Z1 smartphone for the Western market at CES.
