Five celebrities from sport, music, TV or film will help the contestants throughout the show, while the stars also take on unexpected questions themselves.

The six-part 40-minute series will launch on the channel this spring.

BBC One controller Charlotte Moore said: "More Rob on BBC One can only be a good thing. It's a really funny show and an exciting addition to Saturday nights."

Brydon added: "I loved making the pilot for The Guess List and can't wait to get started on the first series."

The pilot episode was first announced by BBC One back in August last year.

Rob Brydon will return with Steve Coogan for The Trip To Italy , which will air on television in the UK later this year.
