DJ Mustard Wants To Be The Timbaland To Justin Bieber's Timberlake

All it takes is just 15 seconds of a new Justin Bieber song to get everyone talking. Last week, the Biebs dropped a snippet of a new track on Instagram, and though we couldn't hear much, we did hear DJ Mustard's signature drop at the top of the bassy tune.

"I haven't heard the full record yet, but I think it's dope. I think Justin Bieber should let me executive produce his album," Mustard told MTV News before letting out a hearty laugh.

On Tuesday, YG and his production partner DJ Mustard visited MTV News to record a track-by-track breakdown of My Krazy Life, which will air on Wednesday's (March 26) episode of "RapFix Live" at 4 p.m. on MTV.com and MTV Jams.

Mustard says he was just as surprised as the fans when JB teased the track last week. The unnamed song starts with the producer's famous "Mustard on the beat, ho" signature drop before JB starts singing: "It's crazy when you're in the club/ And hear your song/ And ready to turn up."

The Los Angeles producer has amassed a number of hits since 2010. Mustard broke through with Tyga's double-platinum standout "Rack City" and since delivered winning tracks to 2 Chainz ("I'm Different"), Young Jeezy ("R.I.P.") and Trey Songz ("Na Na"). In January, Mustard revealed that he is going to be working on Rihanna's new album as well.

Most recently, Mustard produced eight of the 14 tracks on YG's My Krazy Life. He tells MTV News that these days, he's more into producing entire albums than hit singles. If given the chance to be more involved with Bieber, he has big plans.

"I wouldn't really even know what to expect, but I just know the sound that we create would be crazy. You remember when Justin Timberlake and Timbaland got together? Similar to that," he said. "I'm not trying to compare us or nothing like that, but it could be similar to that."
