The show focuses on Mia (Ahna O'Reilly) who, upon discovering that she needs an organ transplant in order to survive, tracks down her only remaining living relative, a half-brother named Davis (Matt Barr).

Mehcad Brooks will play CIA agent Brennan

Soon after meeting him, Mia discovers that he and his wealthy parents are at the centre of a CIA investigation for domestic terrorism and the government agency wants Mia as their informant, causing conflicting loyalties.
Brooks has been cast as Brennan, a CIA agent who employs some unorthodox methods in order to secure Mia as a witness and get her to testify against the family that saved her, reports Deadline .
The actor starred as Benedict 'Eggs' Talley on HBO's True Blood from 2008 to 2009, and has also appeared in Necessary Roughness and Desperate Housewives.
Identity is written by Corinne Brinkerhoff (The Good Wife) and is to be executive produced by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, both of whom have worked on Star Trek and developed Hawaii Five-O and Fringe.
