Watch 2 Chainz And French Montana Swing For The Fences With 'A-Rod'

Opening night of the Major League Baseball season is this Sunday (followed on Tuesday by the premiere of at 11 p.m. ET/10 CT on MTV2), and 2 Chainz is getting in the mood with his new song.

On Friday afternoon (March 28), his collaboration with French Montana, "A-Rod," was released online, along with the accompanying video. The strike came roughly a month after the song was first teased, when Tit and French performed it live in New York.

"I be ridin' through the park like I'm A-Rod/ Walkin' through the park like I'm A-Rod/ Smokin' on that strong, that's that steroid/ They tryna kick me out like A-Rod/ I used to run the base like A-Rod," Chainz raps on the chorus, making reference to controversial New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez. It's a point of comparison that is loosely woven throughout his and French's verses as well.

The video takes fans to A-Rod's recent stomping grounds, as the two rappers spend a chunk of time rhyming in front of the sign for Yankee Stadium. 2 Chainz is rocking a jacket with the iconic Yankees logo emblazoned on the left chest, while French dons a large fur coat as he rhymes in front of the famous Bronx stadium. Wale also makes a cameo.

There's no word on where the Young Chop-produced track will land, though it may be off of 2 Chainz's upcoming B.O.A.T.S. III album, which the rapper confirmed is in the works last month on "RapFix Live."

"B.O.A.T.S. is like a real healthy timeline of Tity Boy [or] 2 Chainz," the Atlanta rapper said. "When I say, 'I started from the trap, now I rap,' it's basically that."
