It’s no secret that Ed Sheeran likes to cover other artists songs.
From Rihanna’s “We Found Love,” to BeyoncĂ©’s “Drunk in Love” to Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me,” Ed has always put his spin on hit songs, and they are always pretty impressive.
When he stopped by “Live From MTV” to celebrate his MTV documentary, “Nine Days And Nights,” we put Ed up to the ultimate cover song challenge: turning hip-hop songs into country hits.
In what we called, “Sheeran Shake-up,” Ed had to pick notable hip-hop songs out of a cowboy hat, grab his guitar and turn it into a country smash, and not surprisingly, he totally made it work.
From R. Kelly’s “Ignition (Remix),” to DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win,” to Jay Z’s “99 Problems,” Ed came up with the cover on the spot and stunned a crowd of Sheerios.
