DC Comics announces 2015 Convergence event

DC Comics has announced its 2015 event 'Convergence'.

The publisher confirmed rumours that its line will be put on hold for the nine-week storyline in March and April.

DC Comics' Convergence

USA Today reports that the event - which spins out of the Futures End and Earth 2: Worlds End weekly series - will be released as the company finalises its move from New York City to Burbank, California.

It will centre around the villain Brainiac's experiment of introducing the cities he has kidnapped from across the multiverse to each other.

A new foe, Telos, will also be introduced in the storyline.

Stargate SG-1 and White Collar writer Jeff King will make his comics debut on the project, with assistance from Dan Jurgens and Scott Lobdell.

'Convergence' will consist of a zero issue, an eight-part weekly miniseries and 40 two-part miniseries.

The event is billed to clear up continuity questions left over from the 2011 New 52 reboot.

Convergence #0 will be released on April 1.
