Gone Girl becomes David Fincher's highest-grossing US box office film

David Fincher 's Gone Girl has become his highest-grossing film in the US box office.

Gone Girl 's US box office total to date is $127.8m, knocking 2008's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button to number two with $127.5m, reports Collider .




2011's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and 1995's Seven follows both films in third and fourth place with $102.5m and $100.1m respectively.

The Social Network, Panic Room, Alien 3, The Game, Fight Club and Zodiac make up Fincher's top 10 US box office charts.

Gone Girl, starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, debuted at number one in the US box office back in October.


It remained in the number one spot for two weekends after Brad Pitt's Fury took the top spot in Gone Girl's third weekend at the US box office.


Based on Gillian Flynn's novel with the same name, Gone Girl follows Nick (Affleck) after the mysterious disappearance of his wife Amy (Pike).
