Although the Dishonored developer was rumoured to be behind the Prey sequel, leaked emails obtained by Kotaku confirm the matter.
The developer now consists of two studios - one of which is in Austin, Texas, and the other is located in Lyon, France.
A sequel or successor to Dishonored is being developed by the Lyon-based studio, according to a source familiar with the project.
The source also claims that Dishonored co-director Harvey Smith has moved to France to work on the unannounced project.
The Texas-based studio, meanwhile, is apparently in the pre-production phase of the Prey 2 reboot.
According to another source, the developer doesn't plan to use existing Prey 2 content made by Human Head Studios.
Originally scheduled for a 2012 launch, Prey 2 will eventually be released on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
