The drama, produced by former Desperate Housewives collaborators Eva Longoria and Marc Cherry, will return to Lifetime in 2014. 13 episodes will be made for season two.
Since season one's premiere, the show has become the network's fastest-growing drama series.
Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Lifetime, said: "One of the most daring series on television, Devious Maids has quickly become a hit.
"We are very proud of the show and are delighted to continue our partnership with Marc Cherry, Eva Longoria, Sabrina Wind, ABC Studios and Televisa USA. I am thrilled we are bringing Devious Maids back for a second season to lead our scripted slate in 2014."
The show focuses on a group of maids who are brought together by their jobs and struggles, especially when fellow worker Flora is found brutally murdered at the home of one of her employers.
Longoria recently defended the show after it received a critical backlash. Meanwhile, it has also been reported that the 38-year-old was producing a new sex therapist comedy series.
