The British star will appear in the new ABC series in a recurring role, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Marvel's 'Agents of SHIELD'
Few details about Hart's character are known but he is expected to play a scientist in the Marvel drama.
He has previously appeared in Luck, Dirt and A&E's Bates Motel.
Avengers director Joss Whedon recently said that it would be a "bonus" to have Marvel's superheroes appear on Agents of SHIELD.
Avengers cast members Cobie Smulders and Clark Gregg will reprise their roles for the new ABC series, while Samuel L Jackson and Tom Hiddleston have also expressed an interest in appearing on the small screen.
Marvel's Agents of SHIELD premieres on ABC on Tuesday, September 24 at 8/7c.
