David Threlfall (Shameless), Russell Tovey (Being Human), Stephen Mackintosh (Inside Men) and David Bamber (The Hollow Crown) are among the show's cast.
The plot centres on the arrival of Michael (Tovey) and Vidya (Amber Rose Revah) at their new flat in Coulthard Street to prepare for the arrival of their first baby.
After discovering a leak in the flat, the duo stumble upon a decomposed body in one of the other flats, believed to be the resident of flat 5.
Detective Len Harper (Threlfall) is called in to investigate the dead body, one week before his retirement, and he tries to discover why nobody noticed the disappearance of the resident and who is holding back secrets about the death.
What Remains debuts at the end of August on BBC One.
