The 11-minute clip gives a look at "daytime" in the survival horror game's vast world.
During the day, players travel through a municipal environment that has been occupied by a malicious outbreak.
They must also search for and collect supplies to make weapons to help defend themselves from the infected population, which is constantly increasing in size.
"If players find themselves overwhelmed by infected, they'll have to choose between fight or flight," says the publisher.
"Thankfully they'll be able to run seamlessly around the world - from the rooftops to the ground, and everywhere in between - with the game's free-running movement.
"Every choice in Dying Light has different consequences."
Developed by Dead Island studio Techland, Dying Light is scheduled to launch in 2014 for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
