Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke to perform at MTV Video Music Awards

Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke are to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards 2013.

MTV has confirmed that Cyrus's 'We Can't Stop' and Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' are also up for the brand new 'Best Song of the Summer' prize.

Other nominees in the 'Best Song of the Summer' category are Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky', Calvin Harris's 'Need Your Love', One Direction's 'Best Song Ever' and Selena Gomez's 'Come & Get It'.


Katy Perry, Kanye West and Lady Gaga have previously been announced as performing on the live telecast.


Daft Punk and Beyoncé are also rumoured to be making surprise appearances.

One Direction will be making a special appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards as well.


The MTV VMAs 2013 will take place for the first time in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Centre on Sunday, August 25 from 9pm ET.
