'Call of Duty: Ghosts' adds unlimited cross-gen profile transfers

Call of Duty: Elite members will be able to transfer profiles between console generations, it has been revealed.

Senior executive producer Marcus Iremonger told Digital Spy that members wishing to play Call of Duty: Ghosts on current and next-gen consoles would be able to transfer profiles at will.

"We have 20 million Call of Duty Elite members, so they're effectively registered," Iremonger explained.

"When they put in the game, it's going to pick up who they are, so they can just play as normal.

"If they then decide to buy and Xbox One, when they boot the game up, it's going to register the fact that they've got an Xbox 360 and ask if they want to play with that same profile, so you can make that choice to tag it.

"You can just carry on with everything there.

"If you had two machines, you could potentially go between games, not at the same time, but you could play on one, stop, and then play on the other. Or if you went to a friend's house, for example."

Iremonger ruled out cross-platform support, explaining that profile switching would only work between PS3 and PS4, or Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Multiplayer adds seven new modes, female soldiers, more than 20 new killstreaks and over 30 new weapons, including a new weapon class.

New game types include Crank, Search and Destroy and Squads, which itself features various modes, supports up to six players on a team and contains in-game partners that are more human-like than in previous titles.

A new companion app was announced, as well as a Season Pass and Collector's Edition.

The multiplayer event also included a sneak peek of upcoming Eminem song 'Survival'.

Call of Duty: Ghosts will launch on November 5 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U. It will also be available on next-gen consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from their launches.
