Hollyoaks superbitch Clare Devine has returned to screens in tonight's E4 first look episode (September 26).

The notorious character, played by Gemma Bissix , was confirmed as Fraser Black's daughter in another storyline twist for the Channel 4 soap.

Fans always knew that Clare would be back on screen again, but show bosses decided to keep the timing and details of her latest storyline under wraps until transmission.

The latest E4 instalment saw ruthless Fraser (Jesse Birdsall) take lawyer Jim McGinn (Dan Tetsell) to visit Clare in prison.

Fraser revealed that he is desperate to secure his daughter's freedom and demanded that Jim does all he can to help her.

While a smug Clare was in her element during her last stint on screen, this time she seemed more subdued and bitter after spending the past few months behind bars.

It's also clear that Clare doesn't share a good relationship with Fraser as she insisted that she wanted nothing to do with him, despite his efforts to help her.

A Hollyoaks insider told Digital Spy: "Fans will learn more about the dynamic between Clare and Fraser in future episodes, but whether Clare will get out of prison remains to be seen."

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with its E4 first look screenings following at 7pm.
