> X Factor's new Boot Camp chair swap twist: Is it too cruel?
The twist sees the judges instantly decide if an act deserves a spot in the top six. If they want to put another contestant through once all six seats are full, they must decide who to replace.
"If Simon Cowell was in front of me now I'd tell him to change the format back to how it was. This way is like dangling a carrot in front of someone and then taking it away," Lucy told The Sun .
"It was one of the hardest things emotionally I have ever had to go through. It still hasn't sunk in. I've been absolutely devastated.
"It still doesn't feel real that I'm not in the show anymore. It's so hard to accept because one minute you are through and ecstatic then you have to wait - and eventually get kicked off."
She added: "It's heart-breaking to have that taken away from you. Especially because when I left the arena there were thousands of people chanting for me to come back.
"People outside were crying, coming over, shouting from their cars, crying on the train, which was crazy. I just couldn't understand it. I know how much the audience loved me and how much they wanted me back."
The X Factor continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
