The Sports Illustrated swimsuit model and Dancing with the Stars professional debuted their relationship when they were spotted walking hand-in-hand through New York last week.

People quotes an insider as saying that the duo, who met six months ago through a mutual acquaintance, began as just friends but are now very serious about each other.
The source also revealed the date of the transition from friendship to romance, explaining that it happened when Chmerkovskiy, 33, took Upton to dinner at Scalinatella in New York for her 21st birthday on June 10.
Upton was recently named 'Model of the Year' for 2013 at the 10th annual Style Awards at the Lincoln Centre in New York City.
Earlier this year, she was reportedly in a relationship with NBA star Blake Griffin.
