The 'I Knew You Were Trouble' singer revealed that she has "never had a perfect fit with someone" in a new interview with Glamour magazine.
Speaking about deal-breakers in her love life, she said: "Here's what I've learned about deal-breakers. If you have enough natural chemistry with someone, you overlook every single thing that you said would break the deal."
She went on to say that she is unsure whether she could take someone back if they cheated on her.
"I've seen my friends take someone back after they've cheated because they fit perfectly," she admitted. "But I don't know, because I've never had a perfect fit with someone."
The star - who has previously dated Taylor Lautner, Harry Styles and Jake Gyllenhaal - said that she chooses to ignore the speculation about her life.
The 23-year-old added: "Well the way it works, as I've learned recently is if you reach a point in your career where things are going very well, public perception needs a 'Yeah, but'. Like, 'Yeah, but she's been on a lotta dates apparently'. 'Yeah, but I hear she's crazy'.
"I think you'll find it has a lot to do with being a woman. And I resent that. That there has to be some downside to your personality or lifestyle if you're a woman and successful.
"But I'm not gonna say to my guy friends, 'No, I can't go to lunch because people will say we're dating'. I just reject the idea I have to change the way I live my life."
