Alia Bhatt has said that she could not have got through the recording of a song in Highway without the help of A.R. Rahman.
"I didn't rehearse much, we went twice (to the studio). We spent quite a lot of time and Rahman sir was very patient with me for which I am truly grateful. That really stopped me from going home and screaming into the pillow," the 20-year-old said at the song's launch.
The actress has recorded the song 'Sooha saha' in Highway, in which she stars with Randeep Hooda, IANS reports.
"I didn't rehearse much, we went twice (to the studio). We spent quite a lot of time and Rahman sir was very patient with me for which I am truly grateful. That really stopped me from going home and screaming into the pillow," the 20-year-old said at the song's launch.
While she never previously considered singing as a career option, Bhatt said it might well be an alternative to acting.
"This is the kind of experience you think you will never really have in your life. I always knew that somehow I will act, but this experience. I never really thought will happen and it did. So, if I fail as an actor, I can become a singer," she added.
In the road movie Bhatt plays Veera, a young girl who finds an unlikely travel companion in Mahavir played by Hooda.
Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Highway will release worldwide on February 21.
