McDonald has been cast as Henry Karnes, a grizzled member of the Texas Rangers.

The upcoming series comes from Hatfields & McCoys executive producer Leslie Greif, and will dramatize the rise of the Texas Rangers against Mexico.
McDonald has been cast as Henry Karnes, a grizzled member of the Texas Rangers.
The actor is best known for playing golfer Shooter McGavin in Happy Gilmore, and has recently appeared in Harry's Law and Happy Endings.
90210's Trevor Donovan has also joined the project as a brash and chivalrous horseman.
Bill Paxton, Brendan Fraser, Chad Michael Murray, Ray Liotta, Olivier Martinez, Michael Rapaport and Thomas Jane make up the ensemble cast for Texas Rising.
The miniseries is scheduled to debut on History next year.
