Line of Duty ending kept under wraps as BBC issues spoiler blackout

The final episode of Line of Duty is being kept under wraps by the BBC, in an attempt to avoid any spoilers from leaking.

Some cast and crew have been denied early viewing of the BBC Two police drama's series two conclusion, as well as journalists.

Even the BBC's director general Tony Hall has admitted he gets no advanced viewing privileges: "I am completely hooked on Line of Duty at the moment - I have actually asked if I can have recordings of the end of the series, but like everybody else I have to wait."

Viewers are set to discover who is behind the police corruption, which has led to the ambush and murder of four police officers and a witness, and the disappearance and murder of Carly Kirk.

Line of Duty's ratings have continued to grow week-on-week, peaking at 2.63m (11.9%) last week.

The final episode of series two airs tonight (March 19) on BBC Two at 9pm.
