The winner of Dancing With the Stars has been revealed.
Meryl Davis and dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy were crowned winners in tonight's (May 20) finale, fending off competition from Amy Purdy and Derek Hough as well as Candace Cameron Bure and Mark Ballas.
"It means so much," Chmerkovskiy said. "To do it with Meryl is a dream come true. There's a reason it didn't happen before, because it was meant to happen with this one."
In their final dance, the pair performed a fusion of the foxtrot and cha cha, which received straight 10s from the judges and resulted in a perfect 90 out of 90 for all three final performances.
"The best part of the season was you two," judge Carrie Ann commented.
Len Goodman added: "This might be my last season, and if it is, I couldn't wish for a better dance to watch to finish up with."
Amy Purdy and Derek Hough were named runner-up this season, while Candace Cameron Bure and Mark Ballas landed in third place.
