Google's Chromecast expands to six new countries

Google has announced that Chromecast will be available in six new countries.

Australia, Belgium, Japan, Korea, Portugal and Switzerland will now be able to get hold of the television streaming dongle, bringing Chromecast's country count to 18.

Plugged into a TV's HDMI port, the dongle allows users to stream content from smartphones, tablets and computers when connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

The device was first launched in the US last July costing $35, before arriving in 11 other countries including the UK, Canada and France in March.

Earlier today (May 28), Wuaki.tv made its video streaming service accessible to UK Chromecast users for the first time.
