Pakistani star Meera has called police after her home came under fire from attackers.
The actress was at home when unidentified assailants launched aerial firing outside her residence in Lahore.
"I am worried about her well-being," said Meera's former-publicist Dale Bhagwagar. "With the kind of stress and pressure Meera has been living her life, she requires good guidance and protection.
"As she is a superstar in Pakistan, Meera is in constant media glare, hopping from one crisis and controversy to another.
"She is a strong person, but needs to safeguard herself against unsocial elements as well as the prying media."
Meera has featured in a number of Hindi films, including Mahesh Bhatt's Nazar and Rajiv Babbar's Kasak.
She was the subject of a court hearing earlier this year, following the leak of an MMS which reportedly showed her engaging in a sex act.
