The Kooks' Luke Pritchard sent song to Lorde: 'She never got it'

The Kooks frontman Luke Pritchard has revealed that he once sent a song to Lorde.

The singer explained that he wrote the track and sent it to the young talent two years ago after discovering her material on Soundcloud.

"I'm really trying to get into production, so I feel like that's the way forward for me and the band," Pritchard told Digital Spy at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in Glasgow.

"I'd like to do something with Lorde. I sent her a song ages ago, but she never got it.

"I just said to her, 'I sent you a song two years ago, after I heard you on Soundcloud.' But she said she never got it."

Speaking about Lorde's international breakthrough last year, he added: "It was really cool to see. I'd never met her, but I loved her music.

The band will release their new album Listen on September 1, which will be preceded by new single 'Around Town' on June 15.
