The book comes from author Philipp Meyer and chronicles an iconic Texas family through the Comanche raids of the 1800s, all the way up to the oil booms of the 20th century.

Several networks aside from AMC were also interested in The Son.
AMC recently announced the premiere date for season four of Hell on Wheels .
