Twilight's Bill Condon will bring Disney 's Beauty and the Beast back to the big screen, it has been confirmed.
Beauty and the Beast drew an estimated $425 million worldwide back in 1991 and is the latest Disney classic due for the live-action treatment, following the May 28 release of Maleficent.

Condon has been tapped to direct the live-action feature, 23 years after the animated version first opened in cinemas.

The Sleeping Beauty re-imagining starring Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning, has already grossed $100.6m across 47 territories.
Disney's next live-action project is Cinderella , which will focus on the tale's famous lost slipper.
As well as working on the final two Twilight movies, Condon has also directed The Fifth Estate and Dreamgirls.
