Real Time with Bill Maher will air live from the Sidney Harman Hall in the US capital on Friday, September 12, HBO has confirmed.
That episode will include the culmination of his 'Flip a District' campaign, where viewers write in to urge Maher to use his show to overturn their member of Congress.
Real Time is slated to air on that night from 9pm ET, with Maher then travelling to the nearby Warner Theatre to perform an all-new stand-up special live.
This will be Maher's 10th HBO comedy special, having first performed on the network back in 1989.
HBO commissioned a 13th season of the long-running Real Time back in January.
Maher moved to the pay channel after his previous series Politically Incorrect was cancelled by ABC in 2002.
