Angélica Celaya is joining the cast of NBC's Constantine as the DC Comics character Zed.

"She's someone who can go toe-to-toe with John. She's intuitive. She can detect bull**t," fellow Constantine producer Daniel Cerone added.
Zed has been depicted in the comics as being a psychic who becomes invaluable to magician John Constantine's (Matt Ryan) efforts to save the earth from a supernatural reckoning.

The character is being written into Constantine following the announcement that Lucy Griffiths will exit the series as John's sidekick Liv Aberdine.
Executive producer David S Goyer teased at the TCA Press Tour today (July 13) that Zed has an "interesting dark past" that will be explored throughout the series.
"She's someone who can go toe-to-toe with John. She's intuitive. She can detect bull**t," fellow Constantine producer Daniel Cerone added.
Celaya has previously worked extensively with Telemundo, and has appeared in Burn Notice and Dallas.
