The teaser shows a fallen angel standing on stage and a sinister-looking clown standing behind her.
The clown is controlling her wings by using wooden sticks, which have carved a smiley face into the angel's back.
The fourth season of the FX drama is set in Florida, and stars Jessica Lange as the manager of one of the last freak-show attractions.
This will be the last instalment for Lange, who has appeared in all four seasons.
Emma Roberts and Denis O'Hare are both returning to American Horror Story: Freakshow .
American Horror Story: Freak Show is set to premiere on FX in October.
