Players of the online role-playing title can learn about the endangered animals as they answer a series of one-a-day questions over the next fortnight.
Those who correctly answer three questions will unlock a white rhino as an in-game pet.
A black rhino, meanwhile, will be given to players who select the right answers to at least 10 questions.
The pets will temporarily provide users with an experience boost during their RuneScape adventure.
"The RuneScape team is really proud to play our part in this important conservation project," said RuneScape brand director Neil McClarty.
"Our community has always shown amazing support for the many charity campaigns we've been involved with over the years, and we fully believe that they will continue this by throwing their support behind United for Wildlife's latest drive."
Additionally, two conservationists will appear in the game to present players with facts about the situation of the creatures across sub-Saharan Africa, where there are less than 5,000 Black Rhinos and about 20,000 White Rhinos left.
RuneScape celebrated its 13th anniversary earlier this year.
