The video footage offers fans an early look at the game's combat system, and showcases its graphics engine's ability to transition between day and night.
Upcoming role-playing sequel Final Fantasy XV revolves around the war between the kingdoms of Lucis and Niflheim.
The main character, named Noctis Lucis Caelum, is the heir to the throne of Lucis, and has the ability to sense the death of those around him.
The game will feature a large-scale world with many stories to tell, although Square Enix is yet to confirm whether or not it marks the beginning of a new franchise.
Final Fantasy XV is in development for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but no release date has been announced.
