Minissha Lamba, Upen Patel confirmed as Bigg Boss 8 contestants

Minissha Lamba and Upen Patel have been confirmed as contestants in Bigg Boss 8.

The Hindi film actors are two of fifteen contenders in the Salman Khan-hosted reality TV show.

British-Asian actor Patel posted on Twitter before entering the house: "Wish me luck guys and do shower me with your votes.

"Hoping this journey stays long and a much-needed learning curve. Connect with you all on the flipside of this journey.

"Till then let's hear it for #TeamUpen."

After working as a model in Mumbai for a number of years, Patel made his Bollywood debut with Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan in 36 China Town.

Lamba is best known for her work in Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd, Bachna Ae Haseeno and Well Done Abba.

Other names expected in the house include Sukirti Kandpal, Gautam Gulati, Praneet Bhat, Deepshikha Nagpal, Karishma Tanna, Soni Singh, Natasha Stankovic, Arya Babbar, Sushant Divgikar, Diandra Soares and Puneet Issar.

Bigg Boss season 8 starts today (September 21) on Colours.
